i know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.

it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.

States will now get to choose whether or not to murder their kids. Missouri made it illegal less than an hour after the decision. Texas will automatically make it a felony to perform an abortion in 30 days with a previously passed "trigger" law.

The bill makes it a crime to perform, induce, or attempt abortion. The law provides exceptions for a life-threatening condition of the mother that could lead to her death or serious bodily injury. A violation of the law is a felony of the second degree. The death of the unborn during the abortion would increase the offense to a felony of the first degree. The person performing the abortion could also be subject to a civil penalty of up to $100,000 for each violation.

The law does not impose any penalty or fine on the pregnant female, the law states. Rep. Capriglione told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram the penalties also do not apply to a pregnant female who performs a self-induced abortion.

25 states are expected to make performing an abortion illegal.

sadly the wt failed to teach fundamental biblical doctrines.

i did never really understand the doctrine about ransom while i was still in the congregation.. i did not either understand what it really means that "god is love" as stated in the bible.

i did not either understand from the wt what is love.

You are referring to Romans 6: 7

has been acquitted: Or “has been released (pardoned).” Lit., “has been justified.” The Greek word di·kai·oʹo used here is often rendered “to declare righteous.” The context shows that Paul was discussing spirit-anointed Christians alive at that time. They had been baptized into Christ Jesus and had received the valid prospect of heavenly life. However, in order to be anointed with holy spirit and accepted as spirit-begotten sons of God, they had to die figuratively to their former course of life as imperfect humans and have their sins forgiven by God. Then they could have human perfection imputed to them.

So, first they agree that the death in Romans 6: 7 is figurative... which it is. But they they turn around and say the opposite:

In discussing this with regard to anointed Christians, Paul was drawing on a fundamental truth. He knew that the penalty for Adam’s sin was death. (Ge 2:17) So Paul reasons that one who has died has been acquitted from sin because by means of his death, he has paid the full penalty for sin. At Ro 6:23, Paul says: “The wages sin pays is death.” So when a person has died, his sinful record no longer stands against him. And if it were not for Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s purpose to resurrect the person, he would never live again. Still, he would remain acquitted from sin, since God would not reexamine his case and then sentence him to further punishment.

So, under WT teaching a person can also die physically, pay for their sins themselves, and still not be resurrected.

All complete horse manure. The WT will never quote Hebrews 9: 27 which states that theere will be a judgement after you die.

I let myself in and delved into the library with the old written indexes. I looked up everything all about the ransom. Having read it all, I finally got it… Job done.

I think the WT has explained The Ransom fairly well. They perfectly misrepresent what the Ransom actually is. It is obvious to me that what the WT tries to do with their doctrine of the Ransom is to bolster the idea of "corporateness", so that the great Christian doctrine of Substitution is obscured. Classic misdirection.

Their story goes something like this: Sin resides in Adam. So, since you are from Adam you can't be resurrected. The idea of personal sins, ones you must personally account for is diminished and not addressed.

So, in their teaching Jesus ransomed Adam, became the second Adam and now all you have to do is find the right religion that Jesus chose and presto.... you can get saved.

But the reality is that :

1. There will be a personal judgement AFTER you die. (Hebrews 9: 27) This why people need a personal Savior and not a corporate one

2. Jesus offers to be a scape goat for you personally, become the sins you have committed, and die in your place, for your sins.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Cor. 5 21) Jesus "substitutes" for the death due sinners, who accept the offer.

It is a very generous offer.

In Christianity, Jesus is offering to trade places with you, take the death penalty due you, and then afterwards, vicariously impute his righteousness (the state of being debt-free) to your account.

By contrast, there is no freedom or relief from debt in Watchtowerism. There you have, to hop, skip and jump to the ever-changing whims and doctrines of men and devils. And, that's as good as it gets. There is still judgment and debt to pay for your sins after death.

i’ll go first.. in a previous congregation we had a pioneer couple that have since gone on to be gilead graduates and are now either in circuit work or translation.

they checked all the boxes off the societies list so they were exemplary.

Wow. I didn't realize that a law suit on a business fraud would be a disfellowshipping offense. But, I guess it makes sense in their upside down world where victims typically get abused twice.

for argument sake let’s assume that this verse should apply to 1914. what are your thoughts on generation?.

I just think that they can revise a lot of their history to suit their purposes, but 1914 is the one they just can't let go.

Yep. The reason is because if they abandon 1914, they also abandon:

1. The Gentile Times ending in 1914

2. The establishment of the Millennium Kingdom in 1914

These are the two main rationales for rejecting the New Covenant at the Memorial.

If the Gentile Times are still going on and if Jesus hasn't begun ruling as King, then the New Covenant is still available to "whosoever".

The sole purpose for the existence of the WT is to get people to willingly reject this covenant "for the forgiveness of sins" (Mt. 26: 27-28).

Getting rid of 1914 would put their purpose in jeopardy. They will never abandon 1914 because they will NEVER open up the New Covenant to everyone.

The Genesis 3:15 woman.

genesis 3:15 says that the woman’s seed would be in enmity with the serpent’s seed.

although the bible reveals that the woman’s seed is jesus and christians that go to heaven with christ, it does not identify the woman directly.

we at jw believe that the woman is symbolic.

The woman mentioned in Genesis 3:15 is Eve. The serpent, addressed directly, is the animal that Satan used to deceive the woman. Some of the curse was directed at the animal (verse 14); at the same time, the curse of God falls upon Satan, who had taken the serpent’s form or body in Eden (cf. the dragon in Revelation 12:9)..... "THAT OLD SERPENT" (Rev. 20:2)

As part of the curse, enmity—mutual hatred and ill will—will exist between the woman and the serpent. Later, the same enmity will continue between the woman’s seed or offspring (mankind in general, since Eve is the “mother of all living,” Genesis 3:20) and the serpent’s seed. Their offspring will remain enemies throughout all generations. The serpent’s (metaphorical) offspring are demonic forces and also those people who follow the devil and accomplish his will.

Jesus called the Pharisees a “brood of vipers” in Matthew 12:34 and said they belonged to their “father, the devil” in John 8:44. In short, God says that Satan will always be the enemy of mankind. It follows that people who side with Satan will be at perpetual war with God’s elect and that we are engaged in a very real battle between good and evil (Ephesians 6:12).

Men normally have the "seed". In Jesus' case, he is the only person born from the "seed of the the woman", since there was no male contributor of DNA.
